Modus (latin) = “the way by which something is done“. Through the coaching process, we establish your nutrition strategy based on your energy requirements, life circumstances, and goals. No two people are identical. YOUR nutrition “way” is tailored to achieve your near term goals and long-term sustainability. No special cleanses, pills, or other gimmicks. My nutrition coaching focuses on real food and sustainable plans to optimize your performance.

I am certified by the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN). My PhD in Chemistry means I am able to critically review scientific developments in nutrition science. This spares you from marketing hype and watered-down, over-simplified information. We focus on what is real and what works.

Fat Loss Transformation

I’ve successfully worked with men and women of all ages and abilities to lose weight and improve body composition. I’ve personally lost over 40 lbs (and kept it off) while getting stronger and building lean muscle mass. I will encourage in you mental toughness and never-quit attitude.

Kim McGrath Nutrition Coaching

I’ve spent nearly two decades as a leader in global corporate business development and marketing in high-tech firms. Between travel, deadlines, and time with family, it was extremely challenging to find the time to eat healthy and exercise. Frustrated by failures with popular “diet” programs, I stopped looking for shortcuts, and educated myself in the science of nutrition and habits. This enabled me to transform my lifestyle from the foundation up. Now, I’m dedicated to and passionate about helping others achieve the same success. My clients range from those looking to adopt healthier habits and lose weight to advanced athletes seeking optimization. My coaching style is intimate, combining nutrition with mindset development to support habit formation and a high long-term success rate.

I’m a hybrid athlete and love functional fitness, strength training, and trail running. I’ve completed some of the most elite multi-day tactical endurance events across the country. Through training, I developed the mental toughness and growth mindset habits which I directly apply into my coaching. 

I am certified by the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN), hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from UC Irvine. I enjoy learning and staying current in the latest in nutrition and exercise physiology research.
